Purpose:         This year’s event will feature our Rotary Free Clinic.  This clinic has no building, bricks or mortar.  Many of our wonderful local doctors and dentists participate by providing free medical care to people with no insurance.  This program also includes providing dentures to folks who need them and cannot afford them.  A big thank you goes to all of these wonderful volunteers who so freely give of their time and resources to help others.  We’ve given $10,000 for the last five years to this worthy cause.

Proceeds of this event will also assist the Rotary Club of Hazard with many other community service projects.  We provide scholarships annually in the amount of $7,000 to high school seniors from Buckhorn, Hazard, Perry Central and Cordia.  We also purchase and present annually dictionaries and/or math flash cards for all Perry County and Cordia third graders.  We sponsor the KCTCS-Rotary Day that provides high school students an opportunity to visit Hazard Community and Technical College to learn more about post secondary educational opportunities.  We also support, participate and give donations to several other worthwhile community projects.
