On Thursday, June 27, Gerrie Clark, a Vice President and Trust Officer for Community Trust Bank, became the 91st president of the Pikeville Rotary Club, following the tenure of outgoing president Howard V. Roberts.
Gerrie,
who became a Rotarian in 2004, has been a very active club member. She served
as Past District Governor Rakesh Sachdeva’s assistant in 2009. She has also
been a board member and has chaired many of the club’s fundraising activities
and other events over the years. Gerrie brings experience and a vibrant “can
do” attitude to the club and its 103 members. “Hopefully, I will be able to
lead the club in a forward way, grow our numbers and be a positive role model
for the Rotary ideal”, says Gerrie. “It is important to embrace the ethics and
powerful message of Rotary, which is encompassed in its 2013-14 motto ‘Engage
Rotary, Change Lives’”.
Joining
Gerrie as officers for 2013-14 are President Elect Darrell Maynard, President
Nominee Eva Hinkle, Immediate Past President Howard Roberts, Secretary Karen
Roberts Prater, Treasurer Julie Boyd, and Sergeant-at-Arms Rick Newsom.
The
Board of Directors includes Regina Compton, Brent Lee, David Lester, David
Smith, Dan Stratton and John Yagodich. Major Committee Chairs are Darrell
Maynard (Administration), Eva Hinkle (Membership), Pamela Howard (Projects),
Jeanne W. Clark (Public Relations), Carrie Cinnamond Rose (The Rotary
Foundation), and Frank Dawahare and James Glass (Youth
Service).
Gerrie, who has been in banking for 30 years, joined Community Trust and Investment Company in 2011. Her area of expertise is in wealth and trust management. She holds the designation of Registered Paraplanner from the College for Financial Planning.
A strong community advocate, Gerrie also serves on the board of directors of Jenny Wiley Theater, the Appalachian SPCA, and the Coats for Kids Foundation. In the past, she has served on the SouthEast Kentucky Chamber Board of Directors and, for the last two years, has participated in Relay for Life’s Celebrity Waiter event.
In her spare time, Gerrie enjoys hobbies that include photography, floral designing and crafting. She is married to David Clark who is a Joint Commission Specialist of Standards and Interpretations at Pikeville Medical Center.
